As we are lifelong travelers, we were inspired to offer authentic experiences in Kyoto, a city that was Japan’s capital for 1,000 years and remains one of the most charming in the world. We want to share the Japan of many people’s imagination, from cultural activities to a stay in a traditional home.

We provide experiences in a traditional Kyoto townhouse, known as a machiya. Our name, Roujiya, comes from the word ‘rouji,’ meaning a small alley. We hope our guests will step off the main street, relax, and discover new perspectives and a different way of experiencing the world.
