Initial Requirements

Valid ID is Required

Please bring a valid form of identification (like a passport or driver’s license). We will need to verify it and make a copy before we can lease a bike.

Please Look After the Bicycle

Your main responsibility is to keep the bike safe from theft.

Please remember that you are liable for the replacement cost if it is stolen or broken.

Cancellation Policy

Make sure to contact us if you’ll be more than half an hour late. If you do not give us any notice, we’ll claim the cancellation fee.

Cancellations made less than two days before the booking will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

There is no fee for cancellations due to bad weather, but please Contact Us in advance.

By renting a vehicle from Roujiya, you agree to the following terms.

Trouble and Failure: In case of trouble or failure during use, the hirer must return the bike themselves. Roujiya will not reimburse repair charges if the hirer has the bike repaired at another shop. Roujiya accepts no responsibility for any damage due to the trouble or failure of the bike. Roujiya will be under no obligation to pay any costs incurred by the hirer that are caused by their own acts or omissions.

Loss: If the bike is stolen, the hirer must immediately notify Roujiya. The hirer must pay the following replacement cost:

  • Standard type: 20,000 yen
  • Sports type: 40,000 yen
  • Electric type: 100,000 yen
  • MTB: 150,000 yen

Loss and Damage of Keys or Other Parts. If a minor mechanical repair is required or a key is lost during the hire period, the hirer must pay for the replacement cost. If the bike suffers a puncture, the hirer will have the tire repaired at their own cost at any repair shop and must provide Roujiya with the details of the repair.

Towing: The hirer is liable to pay for parking fines and a charge of 4,000 yen if Roujiya has to retrieve the bike on the hirer’s behalf.

Period of Hire: If the hirer is unable to return the bike by 9:00 PM, they must pay the full charge applicable for the duration of the hire.

Accidents: If the hirer has an accident, they must immediately notify Roujiya. Roujiya is under no obligation to pay any costs incurred by the hirer that are caused by their own acts or omissions. In the event of an accident involving injury, the hirer must report it to the police as soon as possible.

Prohibited Actions: The hirer will not do any of the following:

  • Ride the bike wilfully or recklessly, including under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or in any unlawful manner. Ride the bike off-road or on any non-public roads.
  • Park the bike in a restricted area.
  • Continue riding the bike after noticing any trouble, including a flat tire.
  • Permit any other person to ride the bike.
